Daweena Tia Motwany is a policy, advocacy and communications professional whose work spans public health, housing, justice reform and international development. She has delivered evidence-based policy and advocacy initiatives across Australia, Spain and the broader Indo-Pacific, shaping reforms that strengthen social equity, governance and community resilience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Daweena has led projects on alcohol regulation and community housing investment and justice system reform, working alongside ministers\u2019 offices, peak bodies and research institutions to turn ideas into measurable impact. Her international experience in Barcelona during the Spanish constitutional crisis, as well as her fieldwork in Japan, Fiji, and Tonga, continues to inform her understanding of governance, diplomacy, and people-centred policy.<\/span><\/p>\n

She is a Fellow of the Indo-Pacific Cooperation Network and holds a Master of International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts (Major in Political Science & Minors in Human Rights and Spanish) from the Australian National University. Daweena also holds executive certifications in Negotiation and Influence from MIT Sloan School of Management and in Security Governance and Conflict Resolution from the University of Amsterdam.
